Emerging Goals and Objectives
Evolve Services
Moving into a new phase of evolution, CICN will strive to ensure services are focused, accessible, appropriate and relevant to our partners. Specifically, CICN will expand its focus in regional surveillace to provide important benchmarks and share regional ata to assist partners in making informed decisions.
* Develop accessible and appropriate knoledge transfer opportunities applicable to LTC and community care
* Expand regional surveillance
* Strengthen links between Primary Care Practitioners, acute care and non acute care facilities re: IPAC issues
* Contiually develop resources and services and increase their local relevance and adaptability to specific sector applications
Clarify Roles and Strengthen Positioning
An ongoing goal of CICN remains to ensure that partners are receiving the maimum benefit from the Regional Infection Control Network. Our knowledge and understanding of the needs of our partners must be constantly fine tuned and honed through bi-directional communication, solicitation of opportunities to provide education and a requirement to ensure up to date information in the field of infection prevention and control is liberally shared.
* Identify all significant partners and value added services that can be provided by CICN
* Increase knowledge of what consumers want from CICN
* Explore opportunities to enhance partner performance and complement their services
Foster Innovation
Changes in practices and behaviors at the front line of healthcare often require a shift in culture and attitudes. This remains a challenging, but crtical factor in ensuring best practices in patient safety are effectively applied. Working with partners to maximize the infection control knowledge and credibility of the individual responsible for IPAC within the organization is a key fostering innovate ideas in culture change and in application of best practices in IPAC.
* Develop strategies to help ICPs foster culture change
* Promote accountability and certification in infection control
Provide Provincial Leadership
As one of the first four Regional Infection Control Networks, CICN has taken a lead role in engaging partners and creating a collaborative environment to share IPAC information and best practices. CICN has developed an enviable model focused on partnership building and collaboration. This success can and will provide leadership within the Ontario Agency for Health Promotion and Protection as we become established within that new structure.
* Become the provincial modical lead for CICN and other RICNs
* Establish CICN as a demonstration RICN for partner interaction
* Become the Agency nucleus in Ottawa
